The Umee Dee Experience

ORIGINS

Now DJ-ing since 2014, her music journey started at age 12 when she fell in love with the electronic soundscapes of ambient electronica. Growing up in the UK, she witnessed the evolution of the electronic music scene in the late 90s. Umee has curated her tastes over time, with special predilection for house, techno and ambient music.

EXPERIENCES

Umee Dee is a globally rooted DJ/producer crafting emotionally precise journeys across melodic house, hypnotic techno, and ultra-ambient downtempo. She’s played Brooklyn Mirage / Avant Gardner (NYC) twice for New Year’s Eve—including a 12/31/23 downtempo/ambient set (Umee Dee b2b Nikita b2b Greg Paulus LIVE)—and returned for a solo NYE booking on 12/31/24. In 2024, she co-headlined Flash (Washington, DC) with Elif in the main room, alongside continued momentum across the SF Bay Area and Burning Man circuits.

With roots in India, born in Africa, and shaped by schooling in the UK, Umee Dee’s sound is equally global—

threading groove, depth, and cinematic atmosphere into sets that move bodies and open hearts. She’s shared bills with Pan-Pot (Second State / Mobilee), Emanate (Mioli), Nikita (Listed), and Miyagi (Katermukke), and in 2022

expanded into Europe with an ambient set for ADE (Vrij Palais) and a house/techno set in Berlin at JK Kaffeestube

(Disco Babel).
